Sensei Pam Howes

Sensei Pam started training in 1995 in Richmond, Nelson with Sei Shihan John and the late Eiko Hanshi Andy Barber.  She started with her mum, brother and also trained with her 2 uncles. She attained her shodan in 2005. Sensei Pam moved to the UK in 2008 where she trained and taught with Sei Shihan Brandt and Jun Shihan Tina at Seido London for 8 years.

In 2014 she began training at the Wellington dojo, where she now trains with her son.  In 2017 she started attending the Thursday lunchtime fitness class with her daughter, who was then still in her baby car seat, this is the class she now teaches. She also assists the yellow/green belt children’s class.
The connections and relationships built over many years is something Sensei Pam loves and being able to train with your family is something really special about Seido Karate.
Building fitness and strength (physical and mental) helps many other aspects of your karate, both technique and a strong spirit. Supporting people to build fitness and strength in a fun, inclusive way where everyone is challenged in a way that’s right for them is something Sensei Pam brings to her class.
